If you would like to learn more about the Copenhagen PK Study,

Smokeless Tobacco Products vs. Medicinal Nicotine: Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics in Humans
*THIS IS NOT A QUITTING STUDY*
What is the purpose of the study?

We are looking for regular Copenhagen smokeless tobacco to participate in a four-visit study that looks at pharmacokinetics (what your body does to a drug or how your body affects the distribution and absorption of a drug) and pharmacodynamics (how a drug affects your body or what are the effects of a drug to your body) of newer forms of smokeless tobacco.

How often are the clinic visits?

This study can be completed in two to four weeks, depending on scheduling. At each clinic will take up to four hours.
What will I be doing in the study?

During the visits you will use a different randomly assigned study product (Copenhagen, Commit Lozenge, Camel Snus, or Taboka (or Marlboro Snus)), complete several questionnaires about withdrawal symptoms, health and medication use, and how you like the study product, and provide about 21 teaspoons of blood. You will be asked to not use any form of tobacco or nicotine or alcohol for at least 12 hours before each session. The first two hours of each session will be an additional period where you will not use any tobacco or nicotine. During this two-hour period we will provide food and television. After the first two hours give you the product and start to collect blood samples.
Will I be compensated?

If you attend all visits and comply with all of the study requirements, you will be compensated up to $300.
